OCC family,
 |

"Seth's imprint
is deep on
this college."
|
We received word that at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006, Seth
Wilson, OCC's founding academic dean, passed away and went to be with
the Lord that he loved so well. Please pray for Anna and the rest of
his family as they grieve the loss of this husband, father and grandfather.
I hope you’ll join me in thanking God for the life of this man
who helped found the college, taught so many and, though short in stature,
has cast a very long shadow for Christ.
We’ll pray today that we can continue his work well.
Thank you.
Matt Proctor, President

Seth was born in Maryville, MO, and Anna near Richmond, KY. Seth
began attending Cincinnati Bible Seminary just 10 months after he was
baptized. Seth and Anna were married in 1937 after Seth graduated with
his bachelors in 1936. He took graduate classes at CBS, as well as taught
classes, until 1940, when he was called to "rescue" a fledgling Christian-vocation
school called OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE in Bentonville, AR. |
| The first few years, during WW II, there was no salary for anyone. They
survived on goats, chickens, garden vegetables, and the few dollars that
Seth received for preaching on the weekends. Seth taught for a total of
51 years in college/seminary classrooms and was dean at the "earlier OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE" from 1940-42, dean at Ozark Bible College from 1942-79,
secretary to trustees from 1942-91, and dean emeritus, 1979-2006. |

Seth regularly attended OCC Chapel services until his passing on
December 11, 2006. Together Seth and Anna raised 10 children: Rebecca,
Dora, Ben, Lois, Leta, Carl, Judy, Jonathan, Timothy, and Joy.
